Why Get Large Ear Reduction?
Unluckily, those with larger ears that tend to stick out might find themselves as the butt of others’ jokes or as common targets for kids’ teasing. Often times, these people may also find these features to be aesthetically displeasing themselves, and may wish to reduce them in some manner. Fortunately, there is a procedure available to these individuals that will eliminate any issues with self-image that they might have. If you feel self-conscious about your ears, then large ear reduction may be your solution.
What is large ear reduction?
Large ear reduction, also known as otoplasty, is an operative procedure that reduces the size of ears that tend to prominently stick out from one’s head. Anyone who feels as though his or her ears need some sort of overhaul is eligible to undergo otoplasty.
The otoplasty process may be carried out with local anesthesia, and patients are typically allowed to return to their homes on the same day as the operation. The recovery time for this surgery is minimal. Patients usually experience a recovery time of seven to ten days for the swelling and bruising in the operative areas to subside. After this period, patients may return to normal daily activities, although they should refrain from participating in anything more involved, such as sports.
