Types of Cosmetic Surgery

The medical services industry in the United States is very complex. People obtain a variety of services, such as dental, surgical, or general. One of the major branches of the medical services industry is the cosmetic subsection. Cosmetic surgeries are booming in the United States. To beautify, people undergo a variety of surgeries, commonly known as plastic surgeries. These are not limited to cosmetic surgeries, however.

There are many types of plastic surgeries that doctors provide and that patients may want to have done on them to beautify themselves. One major type of plastic surgery is mammoplasty, a type of plastic surgery that many women have done on their breasts. There are three types of mammoplasty.

• Breast augmentation – whereby women increase the size of the breasts.

• Breast reduction – whereby women reduce the size of their breasts.

• Breast lift – whereby women have the sagginess of their breasts reduced.

Other types of plastic surgery involve other parts of the body. Several of such types of plastic surgery are rhinoplasty (plastic surgery of the nose, to reshape it for example), otoplasty (surgery of ears), and rhytidectomy (surgery of the face to remove wrinkles, also knows as a face lift). Additionally, there is an abdominoplastly, whereby a person’s abs are tightened, and a blepharoplastly, whereby an individual’s eyelids are modified.
