Bright Eyes

As we age, the surface around our eyes changes. Luckily, there is a large industry dedicated to providing safe and minimally invasive treatments to keep our faces beautiful. Below are some possible solutions to the common issues of dark circles and crows feet.

Dark Circles

When we advance in age, the skin around our eyes starts to thin, and the underlying blood vessels become more apparent. This is the cause of the dreaded dark circles many people complain about. Fortunately, a little make-up can do a lot. Yellow-based or green-based concealers counteract with the blue of the underlying circle caused by blood vessels. Select a concealer that is hypoallergenic, fragrance free, waterproof, and opaque. Avoid applying eyeliner to the lower lashes to prevent extra attention from being drawn to the under eye area. Sometimes the dark circles are caused by excess pigment in the skin. If this is the case, lasers, creams, and skin peelers may be utilized to lighten the skin.

Crow’s Feet

Crows feet are wrinkles that form on the corners of the eyes. They are treated with a filler that is injected into the skin to soften the wrinkles. These fillers are only temporary, and will require the patient to get repeat treatments in the future. Botox is often used to paralyze the muscles in the face that cause wrinkles. This treatment will last for three to six months. Another treatment option for crow’s feet is laser resurfacing. It works by stimulating collagen production.
