Some Major Types of Facelifts
There are a number of types of plastic surgeries that people can choose to have done on themselves. Breast surgeries are very popular among women. Moreover, many people choose to tummy tucks, liposuction, or nose jobs. Additionally, facelifts are also common.
Like for all types of plastic surgery, there are many types of facelifts.
The Superficial Masculoaponeutoric System (SMAS) Lift
In this lift, surgeons cut out skin and its deeper tissue and stretch it back, tightening it, and removing the excess tissue. This procedure is best for people aged 45 or over who have some facial sagging.
The Deep Line Lift
This surgery is similar to the SMAS lift, but the surgeon goes to even deeper tissue. This surgery is best for elderly people who have a lot of sagging of the facial skin.
The Short Scar Facelift
With this procedure, the surgeon makes a small cut near the temple or in front of the ear. This small cut allows doctors to fix the sagging skin by moving it and re-attaching it to the face. This surgery is best for people from their 40s to 50s who do not have too much skin and do not have sagging necks.
These are only some of the types of facelifts that plastic surgeons can perform. There are many more that doctors can do. The specific surgeries that the surgeons choose to perform vary from patient to patient and the patient’s specific facial conditions.
